Surface Preparation: To ensure a permanent bond and long-term durability, the concrete substrate underwent professional diamond grinding to open the surface pores and remove any existing contaminants. All minor imperfections were filled and leveled to create a seamless, uniform foundation for the coating system.
The Material: The system features a high-solids epoxy base for superior adhesion, followed by a full broadcast of decorative vinyl flakes. To provide maximum protection against hot-tire pickup and UV yellowing, we applied dual polyaspartic top coats, offering a low-gloss, chemical-resistant finish that outperforms standard garage coatings.
Strategic Execution: This project required a high level of customization to match the client’s aesthetic. We mixed a flake blend of two colors to perfectly complement the paint of the Ford Bronco housed in the garage. Additionally, we installed a rubber base molding along the perimeter to bridge the gap between the sheetrock and concrete, providing a clean, watertight transition that protects the walls.
