Surface Preparation: The concrete was mechanically prepared using diamond grinding ensuring maximum mechanical bond for the epoxy. We meticulously addressed the floor’s integrity by routing and filling all dormant cracks with epoxy patch, creating a seamless and reinforced substrate that prevents telegraphing through the final finish.
The Material: We utilized a 100% solids epoxy floor coating designed for high-traffic environments. The build includes an epoxy primer for deep substrate penetration, followed by a pigmented Epoxy base and a full broadcast of color chips. The system was sealed with 2 High-Solids Polyaspartic topcoats, providing a chemical-resistant, UV-stable, and high-gloss finish that protects against oil, fluids, and hot-tire pickup.
Strategic Execution: Designed specifically to showcase a classic Chevelle, the color palette was chosen to enhance the car’s vintage chrome and paintwork without distracting from it. By opting for the full-broadcast “Granite” finish, we provided a textured, slip-resistant surface that hides minor floor imperfections while offering the heavy-duty resilience required for automotive maintenance and long-term storage. The result is a professional-grade “man cave” environment that bridges the gap between a working shop and a luxury gallery.
