Frequently Asked Questions

That “4x stronger” claim refers to the flexibility (tensile strength) of the plastic itself, not how well it sticks to concrete. A flexible coating that peels off the floor is useless. A coating is only as strong as its bond. Our system uses a hybrid approach: we use Epoxy for the primer because it bonds to concrete better than anything else, and we use Polyurea/Polyaspartic for the topcoat to give you that “4x stronger” toughness on the surface where you need it. We use the best material for each layer, rather than forcing one material to do everything.

A 1-day floor often looks fine on day one, just like a tent looks sturdy until the wind blows. The difference is what’s happening underneath. 1-day systems cure so fast they don’t have time to penetrate the concrete pores, leading to a weak surface bond. Our multi-day process allows our epoxy primer to soak deep into the slab for 8-12 hours, creating a permanent mechanical bond that resists peeling and lifting. We trade speed for strength.

Old-fashioned epoxies did, but we don’t use epoxy on the surface. We use Polyaspartic as the topcoat. It is “aliphatic,” which means it is chemically stable under UV light. It acts as a sunscreen for the floor, ensuring the epoxy and chips underneath never yellow or fade, even if you leave your garage door open.

A typical 1-day system is about 10-15 mils thick. Our system is 25-30 mils thick. That extra thickness acts as a sacrificial wear layer—it’s more material protecting your concrete, which means it can take more abuse, deeper scratches, and heavier impacts without failing.

"I did a lot of homework on garage floor coatings and was concerned about the durability issues often tied to 1-day systems. Andrew walked me through the science of his process and products, explaining why a multi-day application is best for proper adhesion. He even helped me color-match the flakes to my Bronco! My floor looks amazing and I feel confident it’s built to last."

    About

    About Us

Deep Roots. Local Pride. The Platinum Standard.

At Platinum Concrete Coatings, concrete isn’t just a trade it’s a family legacy. Our story began decades ago, but our mission remains the same: to provide the Inland Northwest with the most durable, beautiful, and expertly engineered concrete flooring solutions available.

    A Heritage of Craftsmanship

Owner Andrew Bogle grew up in the industry. Starting at age 15, Andrew worked side-by-side with his father, a 25-year veteran of the concrete world who managed high-rise projects in Seattle and founded Elite Concrete. Under his father's mentorship, Andrew spent a decade mastering the art of restoration, overlays, and specialized coatings.

After years of honing his craft, Andrew connected with Brian Williams, a industry veteran with over 20 years of experience at one of the region’s largest coating firms. Together, they formed a team built on a combined 30+ years of technical expertise.

Small Business Values, Big Project Expertise

When you hire Platinum, you aren't just getting a "crew" you’re getting a team that has led some of the most significant commercial projects in the Inland Northwest. We take our industrial knowledge of understanding moisture content, chemical resistance, and structural integrity and bring it directly to you.

Your Neighbors in the Inland Northwest

We aren't a distant franchise; we are locals through and through. Andrew grew up in Liberty Lake and has called North Idaho home for the last decade. Today, we operate out of the Post Falls and Rathdrum area, serving our neighbors across the Idaho-Washington border with a deep understanding of how our local freeze-thaw cycles affect your concrete.

    The Platinum Difference: Accountability

In an industry where most a offer a 1-Day-System we take a different approach. We believe in:

    • Precision Preparation: We don't skip steps. From testing moisture levels to selecting the perfect system for your specific slab, we ensure a monolithic bond.
    • Communication: We believe in personal follow-up. You’ll always know the status of your project and the "why" behind our process.
    • Standing Behind the Work: Whether a project is big or small, we stand behind it 100%. If there is a problem, we show up and fix it. No questions asked.

We don’t just cover concrete, we protect your investment. Experience the difference that three decades of local expertise can make!
